Celebrating Birthday eve
Bill took me to one of our favorite restaurants, Jackson-Fillmore, tonight to celebrate the eve of my birthday. Earlier this week when we were in Southern California for Christmas, our daughters-in-law, Gina, Valerie and Shawnie, took me out to dinner to celebrate my birthday. Looking forward to spending New Year's Eve near our home in Los Altos with our friends Mary Jane and Pat and Don, and extending even into breakfast on Jan 1 before we drive back up to San Francisco. Wherever we are these days is always home! Happy New Year!

Naughty Santa Day

We had a lot of fun and enjoyed ourselves even without costume.

Just one martini??
On a tour of Nob Hill that ended at the Mark Hopkins Hotel, we learned that during World War II it was tradition that service men and women would go the the Top of The Mark for a martini before deployment and upon return from the war. Not having been there for many years, we decided to imbibe ourselves. Mind you, Bill can't say FREE THROW properly without a drink, but a couple sips of a martini made it quite funny.

Happy Holidays 2010
We're having the time of our lives enjoying the city, eating out (of course), walking/ climbing the steep streets, attending the opera, symphony, concerts and plays, taking City Guides walks, and doing so many more things without the 35-mile drive from Los Altos. We're now in our fifth apartment in our fourth neighborhood (now in North Beach). Bill has made a pact that while we're here in North Beach we should eat Italian food only six out of seven nights!
I'll chronicle our first five months in posts to be uploaded soon.
For now, Happy Holidays,
Love Bill and Beth
